Labradorite faceted cushions with gorgeous blue, green, and yellow florescence. Strung silver seed beads lead down to lapis lazuli drops, all on 14k gold fill wire and findings.
Someone told me after I made these about the myth of Inanna, a Sumerian goddess of love, fertility, war, and wisdom. She was an incredible feminist figure; she was a warrior, took many lovers, and punished them for infidelity. Her myth takes her to the underworld, where she was stripped of all her powers and belongings (including a lapis lazuli necklace!) and trapped. Ultimately, her father, the god Enki, sends two asexual spirit-demons, collectively called the galla, who rescue her and sacrifice themselves to eternity in the underworld so that she can be released.
